Westfield Miranda Announces Extended Christmas Trading Hours for 2025

Westfield Miranda has announced its extended trading hours for the 2025 Christmas season, with the centre opening as early as 7am on select days to accommodate Sutherland Shire shoppers seeking to avoid peak crowds.

The shopping centre, which serves as the retail hub for much of the Shire, expects record foot traffic this year following the completion of its dining precinct expansion earlier in 2025.

Extended Hours Schedule

The centre will operate extended hours from November 27 through December 24:

PeriodOpeningClosing
Nov 27 - Dec 149am9pm
Dec 15 - Dec 207am10pm
Dec 21 - Dec 237am11pm
Dec 247am6pm

Boxing Day sales will commence at 6am on December 26, with the centre expecting queues from as early as 3am based on previous years.

New Click-and-Collect Zones

In response to growing demand for hybrid shopping experiences, Westfield Miranda has introduced three dedicated click-and-collect zones within the centre. Shoppers can order online from participating retailers and collect purchases from centralised pickup points, reducing time spent searching for parking and navigating crowds.

“We saw a 45% increase in click-and-collect orders last Christmas,” said centre manager Belinda Park. “This year, we’ve made it even easier with dedicated parking spots near each collection zone.”

Parking and Transport

The centre’s 4,500-space car park fills quickly during peak shopping periods. Westfield recommends:

  • Early bird shoppers: Arrive before 9am for guaranteed parking
  • Public transport: Miranda Station connects directly to the centre via the Kingsway exit
  • Ride share: Dedicated pickup zone on Kiora Road
  • Off-peak hours: Best parking availability on weekday mornings and after 7pm

Additional overflow parking will be available at Miranda Public School during weekends in December, with a free shuttle service running every 10 minutes.

Community Safety Measures

Following feedback from local families, the centre has implemented several safety initiatives for the busy period:

  • Lost children stations staffed by trained personnel
  • Quiet hours for sensory-sensitive shoppers (7am-8am on select days)
  • Enhanced security presence throughout extended hours
  • First aid stations in three locations

Supporting Local Retailers

While major retailers drive much of the Christmas traffic, the centre is highlighting its local Shire businesses through a dedicated “Shop Local” promotion. Participating local retailers will offer exclusive discounts to Shire residents who present proof of address.

“The Shire community has always supported local businesses,” Park noted. “This is our way of saying thank you and encouraging that continued support.”
